Not received the PM however 2 pieces of advice if you are in the Union:

1. Contact your Rep and Area Rep.
2. Contact Simpson&Millar http://www.simpsonmillar.co.uk/services ... pline.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they are the Unions solicitors and provide a free service in employment matters.

If not a Union member still contact simpson&millar they may be able to provide guidance.

In both cases contact the CAB as they also provide free employment legal advice as well.

I always read it as dont contact SM if it is employement trouble contact the union? All else contact S M

I had a case , got run over by a lorry, its been 3 years in 2 weeks ,and despite numerous medicals, appts, letters, even the other sides insurers admitting to part blame, it looks like im running out of time,as everything has to be done and dusted within 3 yrs or its voided.

The sticking point was that my DOM said it was my fault - he was at work when it happened, and I was about 4 miles away, so how he could have seen it is beyond me

Im getting letters constantly from payroll, wanting their wage back coz I was off sick - and yet ive heard nothing from SM. The case has been handled by about 5 different lawyers in 3 years, and the last 4 were total right offs, and the latest 1 doesnt even reply to anything, calls/emails/texts. The driver rang my DO and said to pass a message onto me saying that if he got 1 more solicitors letter he`d put me in hospital for a long time - so I rang the Solicitor in question, and he said "i`ll send him a letter telling him to backoff" I mean seriously !! He got sacked a short while after that, so obviously it wasnt just me he let down !

From what I'm led to believe - as long as legal proceedings start within three years you are okay. I've heard of cases dragging on for years and years. I read of a case only last week, on how proceedings took nearly 10 years from start to finish.

2) So, a person makes a personal threat against you, and the message is passed onto you at work? Were the police not informed? Who took the message - didn't it occur to them, to contact the police?
