Hi I work for about 8 years with rmail, just got bad news that my niece just died by "cancer" and want to pay my respect to visit family tomorrow but I m due work tomorrow wonder will i get full pay for 1day to visit family tomorrow and 1 day for funeral next week? depends undertaker got busy or delayed!
will i get paid or not paid ? anyone been used it ? thanks .

Paid Special Leave is usually (apart from 'exceptional' circumstances) only granted for immediate family or grandparents,
or partner/spouse's parents.
In other cases it is discretionary, and will probably not given unless you have a sympathetic manager.
You could get unpaid special leave or take leave out of course from your Annal Leave entitlement.

It's very much at your managers discretion. Good luck with it, traumatic a time that it is for you and your family, I find most managers kinda lack any empathy unfortunately
