Shift Allowances

Could anybody tell me if shift allowances are payable the week you perform the shift. For example I am a reserve would i get night allowance the week of the night or the following week. Also does Sunday duty allowance still exist.

I think ad-hoc allowances will be paid in arrears because they are put in at the same time as the OT for that week which is also done in arrears. If you have a permanent allowance it is already in the system so it is paid along side basic pay. At least I think that's how it works.

AFAIK Sunday Duty Allowance was scrapped in 2000 - the Way Forward again.
