Can someone explain to me why we pay a political levy to the labour party, and what relevance it has now please? :neutral:

I am not sure that there is any, however, just recently we had a vote to choose the deputy prime minister, I would like to think that it was posties who voted, ensured Johnson did not get elected. Would we be able to vote if the CWU did not have a political levy.? :neutral: :neutral:

I dont know the figure for the CWU but as a whole
Between 2001 and 2005 the Labour party
received nearly £66m in funds, well over
£42m came from trade unions.

so the unions gave £42 million to the labour party, heck of a lot of our money. how much did ours give and can we stop giving it ?

trying to find out myself. want to know so i can write to local mp. have wrote to him twice already . so far no reply. want to remind him how much they get off us and to tell him ignoring constituants isn't a good vote winner.
