In the past few days we have had one of our boys who has been off on medical for a while given medical retirement.
He was F/T and his duty has been covered by a P/T for a few months now. My question is, should the manager make up a part timers contract to replace the retired guy? Our DOM is firing hours left right and centre to P/T boys for IPS and prep.
I'd ask our Area Rep for an answer, but I'm kinda miffed with him because I havent heard from him since I asked to take over our office rep role last week.

Re: Replacing F/T medical retiree
the days of FT leaving and being replaced like for like has long gone....Wed- Sat PT contracts are the norm thse days...The FT absorb the duties on mon and tues...With the indoor work being so light nowadays its easy for these walks to be prepped for the above duties...
