changes to working week

We have not had a complete review ,but we are now having things tightened up in our office ,is it right that you now have to work longs and shorts if the management feel that works better in your office .It appears that changes can be made, but as we have not had the complete works we do not get the working week changed to 39 hrs,so part time do not get pro rata pay rise we do not get vans ,trolleys or 1 in four Saturdays of but every thing gets harder.It seems a bit of cherry picking is going on is this happening in a lot of other offices? What is the official line on changes? what can they do and what cant they do ?

as i am aware, there is certainly going to be no CHERRY PICKING in my office!!!
stand up for yourselves and get the union involved!!!
make it how you the staff want it..

The ONLY change in our office taken from the "national agreement" is the ceasing of the shift allowance so we have instantly lost money. no surprise there then. Funny how RM focus on the things that save them money straight away and let the other factors just happen IF and when!

Longs and shorts was part of the 2007 agreement so perfecty legit and nowt to do with the 2010 agreement.

However thats not to say your DOM has a alternative understanding of longs and shorts to the rank and file OPG's

No it's not right.
Long and shorts were subject to local agreement not management diktat.

Has the DOM made any attempt to seek agreement with the union rep for your D.O or area rep if no rep for your D.O?

Thanks for reply, our office is just being tweaked,we work on the understanding that if we make time one day we are expected to give it back later in the week if needed,but management now want to change some duties ie packet driver to longs and shorts from comments made this can be done.What makes us really cross is we are looking at doing all these small changes but are not seeing more Saturdays off, vans to change the way we work but we are seeing our work load increase,and all this on the back that we are told we need to loose more hrs maybe we will have to get more Union involvement.
