Half Pay...any way to avoid/negate this?

Post by Thunderthighs »

Due to 3 dog attacks on duty, had quite some time off over the last 3 yrs.
Ist attack RM's fault, legally proven. 2nd one pending with Simp/Millar. 3rd one, no one liable apparently...

Had a letter warning me that I could be on 1/2 pay etc.
Last week, and ANOTHER dog run-in has left me injured, on the sick for at least 2 weeks, maybe more.
This is 3rd AOD and of course, I'm VERY concerned.

What, if anything, can I do to avoid/negate the 1/2 pay, as I literally can't afford to lose money etc?

First two accepted by PWP as "Industrial Injuries," 3rd one applied for now, and also applied for Disability Benefit, as I recommended to by CWU Legal dept.

Whats my position...Can I use the AOD's in some way to stop money being taken away?
Accident No 1 has been Legally proven as RM's fault, 2nd accident Legally pending etc.
ADVICE/HELP WELCOMED ASAP! Thanks all...

when the get the letter from HR regarding half pay they will inform you how much SSP who will receive from the DWP on top of your half pay.It is based on how much stamp you have paid...

The only other option is to go back to work....

 Even if you receive SSP on top of half wages, it will not last for too long. However, of course, you may be enitiled to
the hidden benefits of low wages, ie council tax rebates etc, so check it out.

Thanks for that...I'll check it all out.

Managers call today, come back - after Atos/GP's assmnt - to 6 weeks lite/indoor office duties.

Seems ok, but have to get injury under control first.
Bloody sore today...

check out the - dog attack policy.
i was under the impression that because you were attacked and injured at work, RM would help people finacially in that situation.

you'd need to read the small print of the policy.

Thanks Banddy, is it?

I'm sure the DA policy is here somewhwere, but...

How can RM, the Courier and their PR Machine keep saying, "We'll do EVERYTHING to ensure our workers are safe from Dogs etc...)

...and then penalise you Financially for recovering whilst injured, due to a dog attack/chase???

Seems like they are paying Lip-service to the media/workers, whilst in reality, they are not that concerned at all.

Hypocritical/Two-faced, to say the least...
