DOES ANYONE KNOW THE OFFICIAL ROYAL MAIL POSITION REGARDING SUPPORT FOR OUR NATIONAL TEAM TO WIN THE WORLD CUP??THREE POSTIES CAME TO WORK TODAY SPORTING BASEBALL CAPS SUPPORTING ENGLANDS BID TO WIN THE WORLD CUP.THEY WERE PROMPTLY TOLD BY A MANAGER TO REMOVE THEM AS IT MAY CAUSE OFFENCE TO OTHER ROYAL MAIL EMPLOYEES OR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. ALSO A BAN ON FLAGS OR ANYTHING THAT CONTAINS THE WORDS "ENGLAND".......ROYAL MAIL MUST BE ONE OF THE ONLY COMPANIES THAT HAVE BANNED THERE WORKFORCE FROM SUPPORTING WHAT IS OUR NATIONAL GAME.....PERHAPS THEY WILL BLAME IT ON GOOD OLD "HEALTH AND SAFETY"!!!!!!!!COME ON ENGLAND...................

I'm not English, but I work in England. I say sod them. Fly your flag, be proud your team qualified. A little bit of jingoistic patriotism is a good thing. It brings the country together. Or should we all go to the USA and tell them to remove their flags.

Aye but more important is what he did not say - Mr Cameron did not say whether the flag would remain aloft for the entire competition or whether it would come down should England be eliminated before the final on Sunday 11 July.

And it was the previous incumbent Gordon Brown (a Scot) who in 2007 abolished a decades-old rule stating that the union flag could be flown only on government buildings on certain days of the year. "When I came in to be prime minister, I was looking at all the rules that exist. We had a very strange rule for decades that said you can't fly the union jack more than 18 days a year.

"It was because they listed the number of public events and on no other days would the union jack be flown.

"We thought it was a ridiculous rule. We've got rid of the rule and it will be up to public offices to decide if they want to fly the flag."
