Later starts

After listening to Bob Gibson speaking about the new agreement and the later starts in Belfast. I was under the impression that we only had to stick in a disagreement over the later starts as majority of fulltimers would not start any later than 7 o clock. The words are the words.

However have just been told by an area rep that the later starts are going to happen and they will be determined by the arrival times of the second lorry which means big trouble for our office as second lorry arrival is 3 hours later than it is now. The only place were the 7 o clock start will be enforced is in England.
Scotland and N.Ireland will be based on arrival times of second lorry, surely this cannot be true.

Were we misinformed yet again inorder to help get a YES vote.

What is the official stance on the later starts?

All of the start times and all of the attendance patterns will in the end be driven by the mail arrival times.
How could it possibly be any other way?
Those on here who said that you could pick and choose either as you pleased were either dillusional or dishonest...take your pick.

well the 14th june our office goes live with ws (doms words not mine) so we will be starting at 6.30 - 14.30 mon - fri and 6.00 - ? sat , we was also told that you have to by law cwu h&s joker have a 20 min meal break before you leave the office everyday. the way i look at it is you work 8hrs a day -7hrs - 20mins minus your meal break ft , so the later they keep you indoors the less time you have to deliver , so with the increase in d2ds i will be working to my time.

I think it was you that posted the same 'issue' in another thread somewhere on the forum. You work 8 hours a day. You have 40 minutes break per day. It does not matter when you take your breaks! You are still only working 8 hour days!

Please, sit down, have a really good think about what you are saying, draw yourself diagrams to make it easier for yourself.

what i am saying is dom opens up early because he knows certain people will go in early to get mail or d2ds in (idiots) , and all the years ive worked at this delivery office the dom as never mentioned anything about workers going for meal breaks as he was more interested in ft preping rounds or walk collapseing , now the sudden change.

Don't worry about others, you only concern yourself with your own duties.

I think you are being a little silly with regards this meal relief thing. Do you want the management to mother you the whole morning? Every employee is entitled to breaks, hours permitting, because previously you never took a meal relief before starting delivery and thus completing your delivery earlier and then your meal relief kicks in, you are viewing that as your finish time. It's not! It's your breaktime! The pay clock is still ticking.

Have your break before you start delivery. Your amount of time for delivery will remain the exactly the same.

Takes me 2 hours to prep and pull out my duty and then 5/6 hours on delivery (with 30 minutes travelling time) and it's the same with most of the rurals in my office.
