Reserve Postie D2D Advice

Hi, l'm a full time(40 hr) reserve postie and next week l will be doing a part time duty (Van) first and then half off another part time duty(cycle) to 'make up my hours' as my DOM says. Do l have to deliver the D2D's on the cycle delivery as well? l wil already be doing the D2D's on the van round as part of the new D2D agreement, so in theory l could end up doing both deliveries D2D's but only getting one payment ie £20.60. Can my DOM make me deliver the cycle deliveries D2D's?

In short ....yes,if you have time.
The supplement has nothing to do with D2D.
The D2D is just mail....like all the rest.
I have to say though that delivering one duty and then half of another to "make up your hours" is something you may wish to have a word with your rep about.

I've always have to do this if there is not full time duties to cover. Is this not happening in other offices then?

Well i'm contracted 40hrs, van round is 30.10 (without mealbreaks)

No the cycle round is the round that normallly gets lapsed (absorbed) but because there is no-one else in the office who knows the part-time van round (apart from myself) i've got to do the lapsed round (cycle) to make up my contracted hours.

Is your rep having resource meetings? If so the duty board should be done for next week WITH the rep. If it is,raise the issue with your rep.If it is not then your rep needs to start resourcing and having an input on the duty board.

I have had this conversation my rep and dom and l have even had my area rep down at the office as well and they all agree that l have to make my hours up whenever lm put onto a part time round.

This wasn't my issue in the first place, the answer l was looking for was...do l have to do the 20% d2d's(agreed at local level) on both rounds each day, if l do then in theory lm doing 40% d2d's a day and lm not at all happy about this if my dom tells me this is the case when l go back to work Monday after being on leave last week.

OK then the 1/5th will be PER duty,(that is per full time,or 40 hours). If the 1/5th is over then your workload is not fair or manageable.You are not "making up your hours" as stated.You are performing a duty.

So you're not moaning about doing 2 duties then? So it's doing the d2d's that's bothering you? How many d2d's can be on a part time van duty? Any van duties in our office have at the most 20 houses to deliver to. It's nearly all firms and collections. And d2d's are now mail, so you have to deliver them or it's wilful delay!
