Can you get sacked for not wearing RM uniform? I know you can get a doctors note for not wearing rm shoes , but what about the rest of the uniform?
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.

Hope not. RM don't supply trousers to fit me. Ordered one size, couldn't get them over my hips. Next size up came right up to fasten to my bra! I looked like coco the clown wearing them, and if a gust of wind caught me, I would be up the nearest tree!

So with the managers consent, I wear jeans (winter), Blue trousers in spring and shorts in summer :nana

I couldn't get a doctors note, i was told to go through Atos, i didn't bother as they only deal with you over the phone. Those CAT shoes are hopeless, so i went back to wearing the magnums with some extra insoles and are much better for the time being, i find it better to rotate different shoes or boots and not wear the same ones all the time. :wave

A Very Good idea - the CATs are very comfy to start with but the sole wears out quick and the side supports seem to wear out over time. After 3 months I was getting pains walking in them.

Magnums (the new version) are very uncomfortable for about a week 10 days but once worn in an softened up and with an insole are actually quite good. Still have not had to walk on any slippery paths or drain covers yet though while wearing them so cant comment on the Mk1s main failing.

I had to stop wearing my Cat trainers, they wore out and hurt my feet. I've got Cat boots aswell but they've scarred the top of one of my feet. Ordered a pair of DM shoes but they are going to take forever to wear in and I can be arsed to do that, so went out and bought myself a pair of trainers with a built in Gel system. My feet don't hurt at all now and the injury in my leg from my AOD does'nt seem to be hurting as much as it did :Very Happy

I paid £10 a few years back for a doctors letter regarding footwear and our new dom would'nt let me wear my own trainers. I used to get an allowance to buy footwear but he soon put the knockers on that :arrrghhh . The footwear then was the doc martins but the cats are not too bad now i suppose.

Why dont RM give the footwear contract to karrimor!!!! at least they specialize in walking footwear :nana

If you're meeting the public uniform should be worn, if you're in a Mail Centre I believe it's optional now.

Ofcourse you can get sacked for refusing to wear it. Unless that is you have a medical condition, physical or mental. I mean you could have a phobia about it on your body or be allergic to the polyester content.
