Does anyone know, when you are off sick for less than 7 days, you have to fill in a self cert on resumption of duty. On the form it asks "did you visit your gp".
Why do they ask that? Do they check? It seems daft if you are off with just a sick bug or something?

You don't have to visit the Doc when off sick, but if you do go they will ask what the Doc diagnosed and what treatment they suggested. Although RM are not to be completely trusted this is one area that I think is the same as most places of work, it certainly was at my last place, they are just trying to build up a picture of why you were off sick.
