Post by humphrey1 »

Have booked holiday abroad - only 2 people off from depot at any one time - holiday entitlement only began on 1st april - I have been denied my leave that is taken to fit in with my partner & children & partners ex - Stand to lose a great deal of money - all because everyone put their holidays for 2010 in at xmas while I was on sick leave - does anyone have any advice - Depot manager & partner are on leave (both work at the depot & always have leave at the same time) Does any one have any advice

If you have a paid holiday with proof R/M should honour it see your rep mate you might have to fight this a little. If your DIMS ok he knows it has to be honoured .

if you explain they should honour it, or could say should never book anything until you have confirmation?

The problem with this is if you await confirmation you won't be going anywhere, we have only had a signing for first two weeks, we are already a week into the new leave year, and although we pest him on a daily basis there is still no sign of the second two weeks. By the time we get second two weeks confirmed people are going to be finding most of their preferred holiday destinations are either full, or out of their price range.

Is there a set RM procedure for booking holidays or does it vary from office to office ? I only joined in the last few months and was told could carry holidays over into this year. However, whilst I am quite flexible I would like one week in the school holidays at least. Despite giving five months notice of this there is lots of sharp intakes of breath and fobbing off every time I ask. I have a horrible feeling im going to be told I have to be grateful for a rainy week in November on my own !! :arrrghhh

Office i work at DOM has already allocated A/L for winter period 2011that's from jan/April when questioned states he has an office to run and a budget to subscribe to or he won't get his bonus and he is not loosing that for anyone so tough luck. Be aware that you will have to challenge this type of bullying if you want to take your A/L when you want it.

DOM or bookroom are supposed to send you your leave card whilst off. Take grievance out and use the WFA 2000 as reference. If a manager says anything about bonus inform Rep asap!
