As directed?

Post by dave7634 »

Although 318's have gone, is it still the rule that if lets say your duty consisted of 3 wave collections, then management could take you off wave 2 and put you walking or can you still refuse? The duty is theirs as they applied and got it a few years ago.

Unless for some reason you cannot do del work, dont see a problem as long as you get paid, i would expect to get taken off duty if i refused,
probably rightly so, after all you own the hours. not the duty.

Wave 3 is a 3pm collection and the uso states that all post offices have to be cleared, the same with wave 2 and of 4. So no management cannot take this away

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

USO states that all collection points must be cleared at least once a day, as long as there is a collection later in the day waves 2 & 3 can be cancelled. If they cancell any collections and collections points fail USO it is managements problem, you just do as requested that way you do not get into trouble.

We do not clear post office on every wave, one rural one gets left. If you are not trained on deliveries then you should not be expected to do them.

If the task is safe and you are fully trained, then you do it.
