Conveyance.

Could anybody tell me what the rules on conveyance to and from DO's are? Does the crew bus have to lift you within a certain time of your last letter? Was there anything in The Way Forward (I use that term very lightly) Agreement of 2007? Can Management give you more work or help the driver if he still isnt finished his own duties? Few questions there I know but any help would be much appreciated.

You should be at your DO at least 10-15 mins before your duty finishes.To pouch off ect.

Thanks Postman, but is that an offical 10/15 mins i.e should it have put in place with the duty structure? My dom is an absolute w****r and a will try it on with his bullyboy tactics by making up rules as he goes along. A scenario that is not to unfamiliar with many who use this site.

He is trying to tell me that when I finish my walk that I either have to wait for crewbus, time for which he says will not be paid unless I help with other duties even though I am finishing on the time allocated for my duty.

Hope you can make sense of that.

Just want to be able to let him know he is in the wrong.

Re. conveyance.

It all depends on whether you have a local agreement on pouching off or conveyance. If you go back to office to pouch off then you have to do that within working time. Therefore any conveyance needs to be done within paid hours.

Having an agreed 318/duty structure is vital to avoid confusion and management manipulation.

What i would recommend is that you contact your most accessible rep and inform him of imposed overtime!

I drive my own car to work then use the crew bus to get back into town, about 4 miles, to start my walk. DOM told me to pouch off at the end of my walk and make my own way on my own time to collect the car I drove to work in!!!

This can't be right, right, they can't do that. Can they?

Different offices have varied local agreements. for instance at my office we have an agreed pouching off agreement whereby delivery staff pouch at designated points at the end of their delivery rounds, which there is 15 mins built in to accomodate this and then from there they make their own way home. We have this because most staff choose deliveries near where they live.

Some offices have a back to work policy or if no other local agreement then back to office should be the default position.

What has been the customs and practice regarding back to office/pouching off at your workplace? If you have been until recently been conveyed back to work then again this should be the default position and cannot be changed without local agreement. Once again i recommend CWU involvement to resolve this.
