At present all the reserves in our office work about 6-10 hrs more than they are contracted for, the managers refuse and will not increase any contracts up as the reserves are taking the extra in order to try and support their families.
managers want to reduce the number of reserves down, starting in 2 weeks time even though all are delivery only.
all the town walks are over 3.5 hour deliveries due to the wonderful pegasus, still have not got any reduced even though constantly arguing with the managers, now the managers want to add more work on to the town walks also.
How do we stop this shite happening without a union rep?
How do we get a full office retest as we could mabe end up with hours going back into the office instead of out of it?

Work to your time, take your breaks, blah etc, you get the picture it's been said on here countless times in the past..
As for part-timers; this is RM policy, employ people on p/t contracts (and as such only pay p/t leave and sick pay etc) and "use" them, knowing full well they want (/need) f/t hours to pay the bills/support families. Cheap labour, if they don't like it they should leave and find employment elsewhere otherwise they should just put up with it because RM will not increase their hours. s**t but this is modernisation.

Well according to the Interim Agreement - from last November - Yes I know it seems like a lifetime ago, there is not supposed to be any changes made until the agreement has been put before the membership and ratified. Royal Mail is again showing its true colours, they don't give a toss about the CWU, they are dragging their feet over the deal whilst sticking it to offices all over the country. Course nobody realised this was going to happen did theytrouble wrote:At present all the reserves in our office work about 6-10 hrs more than they are contracted for, the managers refuse and will not increase any contracts up as the reserves are taking the extra in order to try and support their families.
