went into work today, my normal start time on a thursday is half 8 with 1pm finish, not 1 letter was prepped for my walk so i went to see the most senior manager as the dom is at another depot. told him nothing was thrown out and that i need to finish on my time 1pm as i had stuff planned for the afternoon, at which point he told me that i should be in at half 7 to prep the walk as my rolling day off is friday in which i prep my own walk on fridays, i told him this was rubbish and that i have been doing the same hours since jan 09 as agreed when i took the walk on. after discussing it he then informed me that to prep and deliver the walk i would only be paid 6 hrs not 6hrs 36 which is what all the f/timers are allocated in which to do the job. I told him this was nonsense and why should i be able to do the same amount of work in less time, in which he told me that he has the right to change my hours to whatever he feels like, again i told him this was rubbish - he even had the cheek to say to me that hr lucky for me will not be attempting to claim back hours for the last year
.In my office the agreed prep and delivery is 6hrs 36 but he has now come up with just me and a couple of other part timers should do it in 6 hrs and book if going over, he has also now said that if i book a friday or saturday off as annual leave then i will be expected to give these extra hours back during the week. no chance.
i even worked out the hours i work over a 6 week period and in my figures with 6h36 prep and walk i average 24.5 hrs so in fact they should owe me money, in working to their new hrs i will be working 24.3hrs on average but in reality having to do more work within the same time span, they have really pissed me off with this - suddenly deciding that i should be in early, its pathetic and damn rude.
Would it be classed as biased if they give different people different time scales to do the same job?
also in this discussion he said he could choose whatever hours he wanted me to work whenever he wished and could also terminate my contract at any time.
Today was a shambles all round with several walks not prepped for the part timers/hybrid duties - this i believe is due to the main dom not being their as tbh the place runs a lot smoother when he's their. Next week its my long weekend so in their magic wisdom i should come in early thursday, i will not be doing this so would i merit any disciplinary action against me?
