I recently had 4 days off sick due to some bug, the first time I've been off in over a year and I'm on no stages.
Informed by my DOM that ATOS are informed on the first day of sickness now.
They have tried to talk to me on the phone once yesterday and once today (my day off).
Is the CWU aware of this practice as it's a bit overkill, isn't it?
By the way, both phone calls I missed. The first one was on my mobile!! and they left a voice mail asking me to call them back (no chance) and the second was on the house phone, which rang off before I answered it and I did 1471 to find out who it was.
If I had talked to them I would have said that I work for RM from 06.15-14.27 Mon to Fri or 06.00-13.00 Sat and talk to me in THEIR time not mine.

This is normal practice now. Basically they call you up to show thier concern for your well being... really they are just checking up on you to make sure you're really sick

As the first week of sickness is to be Self Certified, you're the "Medical Expert" when they ring you up, so...
I'd look in a medical journal and give them a few pages of obscure Latin terms that refer to something totally minor!!!
( Start with Valitudanarian - if that's how you spell it. I think it's a Victorian term for a "Morbid concern for your health.) LOL!

I've been told, twice now, that ATOS would be contacting me...Nothing, nada, zip, zilch, not a blooming sausage.
Maybe they think I'm beyond help. My missus does!

Atos can only phone you if you've left a contact number at work, under the data protection act i had mine removed from work and refused to had it out, i told the manager that if he or Atos need to contact me they can either write to me or make an appointment to come round, no one comes round and i dont get any letters.
