I work in supply chain and our NDA runs from 1900hrs to 0715hrs.
Quite a few of my workmates start their duties at 0630hrs. They do not receive NDA but one of them used to get it a few years back. Another one put in a grievance but was knocked back and doesn't want to go to stage 2 as management have convinced him that they are doing him a favour by paying him one hour's NDA a week at their discretion.
Management's argument is that NDA is only paid after a full hour has been worked. Our argument is that, for payment purposes, NDA is only paid in half hour blocks with 15mins being rounded up to the next half hour, therefore it is not possible to work 45mins NDA as this should be rounded up to one hour.
It seems that management are not following the spirit of the agreement in the way they are interpreting it.
If anyone is having their 45mins rounded up I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
Happy New Year.
