Help Needed

Need a little info chaps on paternity leave.

Got a lad in our place on the 21 dec his parntner went in to labour so the lad ( whos an ag) took his paternity leave 1 week paternity and one week off pay.

Dom worked it out in fron of me that he should be due back to work on the wed 3 jan taking into account the bank holidays.

Dom has now informed the lad that hes due back on 3 days early as hes not entitled to the bank holidays .

To me this is not rite as hes losing 3 days is this correct and is there a paternity leave download avaiable in the downloads secrtion the only one i could find was more for women than men.

Any help will be much appreciated chaps on this matter as i dont want R/M getting one over on a blue shirt.

If he's on paternity leave, he should get his the 3/4 days back as holiday entitlement. Nah i think your dom is trying it on. Ask him to go on a mathematics course. Remind him of the 3/4 days holiday entitlement too.

Not sure if it helps though:

As long as you meet certain conditions you can take either one or two weeks' paternity leave. You can't take odd days off and if you take two weeks they must be taken together.

You can choose to start the leave:

* on the day the baby is born
* a number of days or weeks after the baby is born
* from a specific date after the first day of the week in which the baby is expected to be born

Your leave can start on any day of the week (but not before the baby is born). It has to finish within 56 days of the baby being born. If the baby is born before the week it was due, it must finish within 56 days of the first day of that week. You can start paternity leave after a period of parental leave has ended.

If your partner has a multiple birth, you are only allowed one period of paternity leave.

Not sure if I have read this right but the DOM cannot have it both ways.

OK, say he is NOT allowed the bank holidays, fair enough, not sure about it but still..... All he loses is the days off in lieu, he does not have to turn up three days earlier. Technically I guess he should be back Monday the 4th (after 14 days/two weeks). And he should really have three days further credit (when they let you have it is up for debate).

Opens up a can of worms though, can you get credited for a week off pay and/or one week paternity.
