Yes, plenty, and the hard truth is that unless RM didn't follow the correct procedures in some way (and that's not unusual) or there's some other circumstances which have been overlooked, you don't have any grounds to appeal. If they can show you knowingly booked O/T which you didn't work, you're gone, and all the "ahh yeah buts" and "my manager saids" won't help.
May sound harsh, but that's the way it is.

All the union can do is to ensure the rules etc have been followed by RM, they can't (and won't) get you re-instated if you're guilty.

If you've admitted claiming ot that you never worked then your chances are almost zero, unless as others have said that RM didnt follow the correct proxedure.

IT's are apparently sticklers for consistency , the investigation and handling needs pulling to bits to see if you may have grounds

A IT would put the sh*** up RM - you need to be well advised

You decide full stop if you want to go to a IT if RM do not reinstate you at a appeal . You must have a IT application in within 3 months of your sacking .

By going to appeal you've given RM a sporting chance and nobody can accuse you of being a troublemaker trying to cause a stir .

The bit about the other guy apparently not even being suspended before his disciplinary is " interesting "

Quite a few women's magazines pay cash for stories as well but I very much doubt if you could " kiss and tell " on RM if you had a IT claim outstanding against them . That's just a possible option though .
