I was in on Saturday doin scheduled overtime and my caring manager tried to get me to take out households. I told him I wasnt doing them and he was insistent on me deliverying them. I took out a small amount as I was off all week and wasnt sure if I did refuse to take them out I would be leaving the other postie in the s**t. Does anyone know the official policy on this?

If you had time in the duty time it was a reasonable request. If not you can't be forced to do em on a sat.

Good Lord, I'd have had one of my "turns", and told the eejit I'd have to go home, and he'd have to run around and get a previously covered walk, covered by someone else. My betting is, his main concern on a saturday morning won't have anything to do with rubbish like D2D in future.

D2D material is delivered monday-friday ... end of!

You, the postie, can ask DIM DOM for permission to complete the delivery on a Saturday, but no way can he/she insist on them being done beyond the Friday of that week.

While the delivery of D2D is the responsibility of the duty holder, it still requires DIM DOM to be doing daily checks on progress of deliveries of D2D.

cant get my head round this one. 20% monday to friday.
my day off this week is thursday so 20% mon 20% tues 20% wed off thurs 20% friday. mmmmmmmmmmm works out only 80% all week?

that's how I work if my relief doesn't do 20% then I only do 80 and 20% fail each week. I'm often asked to complete on sat but am unable to do in duty time most of he time so refuse. But if it's quiet and I have time I do it as it is a reasonable request! Believe it or not.

That 20% that wasn't done by your cover, is not your problem. Stand up for yourself and tell your DIM that if he's that concerned he ought to do them himself.

Sorry, got to say your wrong, show me where it states 20% per day, it is not part the agreement for d2d afaik, all the agreement says it should be completed monday to friday, I can see how people equate that to 20% but as I say no rule says you have to do that amount per day,

You should be agreeing with your rest day cover who does what, as it works both ways, he might be loosing out if you dont allow him a share or you might be doing more work if he is not doing his fair share, I have seen both happening and nothing being done by rep or dom which leaves at least one person feeling unhappy,

there is far too many agreements which are quite frankly written so they can be interpretted by sensible adults, but there are far to many adults who behave like children, on both sides of the fence, so they should start treating us like children and spell out exactly what all agreements entail with absolutely no room for interpretation

Responsibility to do - which was based on 6 day week so can be read as duty holder only. But it can also be read as Day off cover should do it as well.

May I suggest that the D2D agreement and responsibilities there in needs to be rewritten, before they sell our souls for a measly 2K and no future payment (or whatever they are thinking)

How does the floater get paid?The system that works in our office does not , as far as I know ,allow for the payment of d2ds on the walk to be split.
