Hi all, i dont know if this is the right place for this hope so.
I am currently in a dispute with my bank and think they will shut my account down so can anyone tell me how difficult it is to get Royal Mail to pay into a different account? I dont have another one in my name but i do in my fiances name. Im presuming i can just ring sheffield tell them the situation and they can temporariy pay into her account until my own is set up.

As an ex pay clerk I don't think they will be able to pay into an account not in your name.
The simple solution TBH would be to go to another bank set up an account and get RM to pay into that. If you then resolve your problems with your current bank then you can set up a standing order to transfer money from one account to another, or simply close one of them.

When we changed bank accounts, the bank sorted out the changeover. Wages got one number wrong on my hubby's account which resulted in his wages going into banking no-mans land! 
He phoned them up & gave them the correct details & they tried to tell him that they would have to recover the money before they paid it into the correct account. As you can imagine, my OH didn't take too kindly to this
& managed to convince them that it was their fault & to pay his wages into his account immediately. BUT, the story doesn't end there..........
The next day he checked his account & no wages in there so called wages again & guess what? They hadn't changed that all important number; resulting in a second set of wages going God knows where. This time they were adamant they couldn't pay out until the money was recovered & by this time my OH had steam coming out of his ears
He eventually got it through to the thick tw*t on the other end of the phone that he had worked and expected to be paid for the hours he had worked & had bills to pay out of the money RM owed him & he would hold RM responsible for any fees incurred because his wages hadn't been paid & they finally got the message & paid in his wages to the correct account. (Sorry for the long sentence, but that was how it came out on the phone 
)

pop into a halifax and set an account up they are good and it dont take long, then ring up wages or HR on the back of your wage slip and get it changed over.

I had a similar problem with my bank (Abbey) so I called sheffield & asked if my wages could be paid into my wifes bank account (NatWest), no problem they said, gave them the details & voilla, my wages the nxt wk were in her account.

I changed my bank not long ago, I phoned up on Monday and my wages were in the new account on Friday.
