have read the interim draft. and cant understand the important bit about EA. how do offices who have had executive actions imposed upon them progress?. im a postman at Dundee West, we like many officeshave had EA imposed. its clear even to local managers that the cuts have been extreme and more hours have to be put back in.but heres the 64 million dollar question, do we A< plough on with present nightmare?, B<go back to our former duties and discuss changes from there?C<pluck completely different duties from thin air? and do we have a office re-sign or what? its getting closer to xmas and no one sems to know.

yes we should reinstate old duties first. but 2 weeks ago they removed the frames of the walks that had been lost. coincedence or what.

I can't obviously comment on your place of work but in my D.O these hours have gone and will not come back.

Can you imagine my DOM going to his boss and asking for another 300 hours in the budget.

Due to EA , a number of staff have recently had S/A removed from their duties. This has been part of those duties for years. The cost of this is around £2,500 a year per person. More of us will lose S/A from our duties when the Sunday nightshifts are stopped on 2nd January , at a cost of around £500 a year per person. This also affects most of the staff who have already lost their S/A (they will lose another £500 on top of the £2,500 already lost).
Some early shift duties have been removed and staff forced to chose between late or nightshift.
Do you honestly believe for a second that RM will give this back ? I don't.

Basically the resp local area divisional that cover your D.O should try and alter the unagreed changes using normal IR process, this means if you cant reach agreement it ends up with HQ and the independent person who will assess if the interim agreement has been adhered as laid out in section 1.6 and most of section 2.

You SA issues make the SA issue in my office seem postively puny!!!!

Ours is a much needed re working of the collection routes but the membership have voted against the new routes as they belive the DOM has made them too big and condensed them from 10 down to 7.

Looks likely to go to dissagrement as the DOM went out on the current routes and based his changes on what he saw with his own eyes and therefore he belives the new routes are doable. Some of the hours from the 3 take out are being put back into the collection routes and the rest will be used for contigency/housing growth. This means RM can claim they are maintaining the earnings of the D.O as the exact amount of money they will pay out in SA each week at my D.O remains the same!!

The only true way to find out if the new routes are possible is to try them without accepting them and without any loss of payment for anybody whilst being tried and then the truth shall be known.

Yes Big Daz , OUCH !!!!!
We are having money taken out of our wages forever. So much for getting a pay rise in 2007/8 , they're just taking it back out of OUR pockets under the disguise of modernisation . I've held my duty for a few years and it includes working Sunday nights. The first hour , 11pm - midnight has always been S/A. In 8 weeks time , they are stopping Sunday nights so everyone involved will lose money. The guys who have already lost S/A have hybrid duties , working part of the late shift and all of the night shift over 4 days. S/A was built in to their duties at the start of every shift and has now been removed. They will be hit in the pocket again when Sunday nights are stopped.
I'm supposed to be working tonight but not going in due to the stress all of this crap is causing. That , and the way our managers are being towards us. I'm going to my doctor in the morning.

Yes , we work our hours and go home after taking 8 hours of non stop crap
