is it time to call of strikes ??
okay im ready to get hammered here, however - where i work a lot of people are wanting to work as normal, myself included, let the talks go on and build some trust with businesses and stop losing money - it is getting very near to christmas.
i apologise if i upset anyone but these are my thoughts

Do you and your work colleagues really think that you can build up the trust?? Do you really want dictatorship with no one negotiating for you? do you honestly believe that you would have the conditions you currently have (should have) without a union. Because however well intentioned you meant that post, the likes of crazier, mandy and higson would love to abuse it!!

Re: is it time to call of strikes ??
So you didn't get £800 (2x£400) and the pay rise in 2007, because that was not on the table before we went on strike.posty pat wrote:same thing happening at our office smudger- totally sick of this, been here too many times before in my 28 years service, ended up losing money and getting zilch in return,

Re: is it time to call of strikes ??
are you not allowed to have a differing opinion on this forum. all i am saying is that i have worked for this company for a long time and been on loads of strikes
i cannot remember one instance when i have returned to work and thought, that was really worth the effort.
people who dont believe me remember the strikes in 1996 and then what was agreed by the union in the way forward agreement

Re: is it time to call of strikes ??
Amazing how selective some peoples memories are. In 2007 before the strikes the final offer was £400 lump sum this ended with basic rise of £23 per week for OPG grade. We all hope the dispute is resolved quickly but be in no doubt if we lose this fight for the future you will have no trade union.
