So who will you be voting for next year? Only asking ‘cos whilst I, my parents and most of my relations have always been loyal Labour supporters I expect to be looking at other options. The Raving Loonies are looking more and more attractive.
Frankly, even though the CWU EC may not want to disaffiliate from Labour, if there is a backlash among members to opt out, the political levy could just disappear and next Conference propositions to disaffiliate may succeed even after this strike is resolved.
Remember all that celebrating in ’97 when ‘New Labour’ had a majority that would enable them to do anything? Yes, you can argue that they have done a lot and the NHS is just one example but now they seem to have gone to pieces and the way they are treating their ordinary supporters ie; us, is a disgrace. Why is New Labour fighting its root supporters or is there a subtle difference between the Party and the government?
But if the Party looks at Mandelson the way they did at Conference – the come back boy – then things are really going down the tubes and they are both complicit in the attempts to destroy the Union and privatise RM.
I really am tempted to vote UKIP They are the new kids on the block and might shake things up a bit. No point in the usual *voting for anyone else is a wasted voted" attitude. So fed up with people who think like that. What the two big ones need is a kick up the arse and about 10 years in the political wilderness. Then, and only then will things start to change in this once great country of ours.
