I only there'd been a national strike in support of the num and the bloody nottinghamshire miners hadn't sold out this country would be a better place.
Hell, our current dispute more than likely wouldn't be happening.

You have to take your hat off to the striking miners of '84. 52 weeks without a single days wage coming into the home, and today we have people cacking their pants over one single day a week.
There has been a change in the British worker, and not for the good of the British worker.

The change is in society in general. The striker is now seen as the villain.

Shame on the Nottinghamshire miners who assisted with the downfall. Shame on the TUC.
The TUC should have said "sod the law!" and called a general strike in support long before the miners strike had gone into 20 weeks never mind 52.

Even today, 25 years on, communities lie broken due to the dispute and the mining industry is destroyed.
We can not allow it to happen again ever.

The government (not the same entity as the party) must be called to account for allowing the postal strike and more importantly the treatment of postal employees to happen.

Mandleson must be thrown on his arse and out of the Labour 'party'.
Not holding my breath though.

I live in a mining community and their are still people referred to as scab,son of scab and now grandson of scab.

For the Nottinghamshire miners who stood their ground. They have my respect, the others well I won't say what I think of that type, almost got into big trouble the last time I expressed those views.
