Are the next strikes legal?

CWU have to give 7 full days notice for any strikes, If they announced at 5.00pm that there will be strikes the following Friday, surely that means the strikes will have to start at least 7 full days later eg 5.01pm, and not at 03.00 in the morning.....

A loophole for RM or am i mistaken?.

Notices have to be served within normal office hours 7 days before the action is due to start. Action can start at any time on the day you give notice on. The CWUs normal pratice is to deliver the notice or notices around 4 40 a full 7 days before the action is to start. We deliver it to Dale Lang at Rathbone place and hopefully the notice we served today will have spoilt a lot managers weekend both this week and next week.

It is legal and just and most welcomed by all for it is royalmail with their abertay cuts which do as much damage as the strikes maybe they seek to introduce change through industrial strife!. But let one thing be clear those in government shall be held too account for the actions which is holding the UK's economy back for their own personal gain we need look no further than :mfo and Gordon Brown to those who feather their own nests!.

they only have to give 7 days notice for the 1st strike, each strike after that only has to be 5 days, this is why they have done it so dont worry.

croxie every strike notice has to be seven days notice. We have served the friday and Monday together as a statement of intent and signal we mean business.
