Please see the attached report from **** ****** Area Rep for TA Postcode area. Yet another set of reasons to support the strike, or spend a hell of a long time to regretting it.

Coming to an office near you!!!

Royal Mail has stated over the last 2 years that we are 20% overpaid and 40% under worked.

• In 2007 they started to address the pay by offering a 0% pay offer.

• What would that be like for you, basic pay for a full time job is £347per week that means they think in 2009 you should really be paid £277per week!! That’s £14,400 a year, the minimum wage is currently £5.80per hour,
we would be on £6.92 per hour and the average pay per week in 2008 was £479 per week, £24,908 a year.

• DOM`s have been told to go away and plan their office around a 3pm & 4pm last letter including Saturdays with the implementation to start in January.

• Currently in the TA area in those offices affected by walk sequencing machines deliveries are going out the door from around 10am.

• 3pm last letter will mean that delivery staff will not be going out the door till 11am

• That’s last letter time, not finishing time. You can add 20 to 30 minutes on the back of that so on a Saturday if we continue to work a 40 hour week it would be 7.30pm-15.30pm for towns and 8.30pm-16.30pm for rurals.

• They have already broken the 2007 Pay & Modernisation agreement in some offices in the TA area by introducing later start times by executive action.

• In the EX/TQ area you will receive your walk sequencing machines in 2010; mail comes to you in 2 batches. Waiting for the second one holds you up. In Exeter MC they also intend to install 3 ILSM`s,
unfortunately with these machines you cannot touch the mail till all 100% of it has been sorted!!

• Remember they have stolen from your pension while making sure theirs is topped up and now they want to reduce your pay, if not this year when would we get our next pay rise?

Support your union, if there is no CWU who is there to stop them from walking all over you!!
