Dear Colleagues
Please note the attached RM unagreed initiative which tries to put a coach and horses through MTSF.
It is vital that if you know of any Next Steps activity in your workplace that you immediately get in touch with the Branch. Under no circumstances should you agree to use Next Steps and the CWU advice to members is NOT to co-operate but to advise their manager that they should use MTSF.
Please let me or your area rep know if you have any issues or concerns..
Thanks

TO ALL BRANCHES
As per Yesterdays report, please find attached a copy of the latest RM project 'NEXT STEPS'
This program is being run by companies external from RM (REED in this case) and is aimed at giving employees options for leaving.
This is outside of the MTSF agreement but RM are pushing ahead with this approach in London.
They are bribing members to get involves by saying that they will only be able to get a EVR quote by going via next steps.
Ray Ellis has written to the business and raise this matter in the National Talks.
Any updates will be relayed asap and if any branches have seen similar approaches please let us know immediately.
Regards

Re: RM The Next Steps Document
I don't know if this is a new idea but I took buy down three and a half years ago, I asked for EVR - a few more also took buy down - but only after taking union advice - nobody got EVR - I don't see what is different about Next Steps and what was on offer then and the Union didn't have a problem with it, even though it contravened the MTSF apparently, but it seems they have learned a lesson, too late for some though our office has 30% part timers.
