im sick to death of being hassled if I cut off on a rural delivery. Now I hear and DOM went all quiet when i said it that 3 cut offs = they take us off pay and escort us off premises!! what a joke.

So i do 2 sa's a week

I feel like saying im not driving anymore for rm. why should i just to get s**t on

What can they do?

At least I can then do bike rounds from then on

If the situation improves can i revert back to " driving duties" or not? ta

Moved question into Union Rep so that one of our resident reps (great ones all of them) can answer with authority.

Don't think you can just refuse to drive for RM if your already asessed as a driver. You would also lose any driving allowance that you may have.
don't see how they can take you off pay for refusing overtime????

its my licence, not rm's. I paid for my lessons, they didnt

Others at work either have no licence or dont drive so who are they to say " you must drive for us" i was taken on as a postie on a bike so

Ive decided to give it up

f**k them right up too. I dont get any allowances , just a bit of sa money maybe £30 a week , and for the stress and hassle its not worth it.

I have already dealt with a situation whereby a delivery driver a driver no longer wanted to drive for RM. He gave notice and gave up his allowance. Its entirely up to you if you want to drive for RM. Dont let them bully you!

If you have a driving duty,and there is no one to cover or swap with you then unless you go as far as getting a doc's note or summin like that it is hard to get off.

If it's just SA,then just dont do it.

Don't let them get to you that is what they want, to piss people off so much that they will leave or do something stupid,more than likely to there dom like to see that one,LOL.Just work your hour's & go home however much work is there, I did a driving duty for 3 years nothing but bloody hassle much better off doing a walk,you can please yourself in your own time.

There is a document on here that informs you of what to do if you cut off and what they should do if you cut off. The policy is theirs so work to it. It works along the lines of you inform them at the start of your duty or earlier that you are not avaliable to work beyond your time (e.g. today, tomorrow, for the foreseeable future) and fill in a form i think. Then on the day as soon as you envisage a problem with completion you inform them. If you get to the second time this has happened and they threaten you with being removed from pay inform them their policy is quite clear that they will investigate the issue, which to date they have not done. Use their policy against them.
