It will be the usual 60% turnout. The other 40% wont bother to vote or cant make their minds up. Of those who vote it will be 60-40 in favour imo. Not overwelming, so rm will seize upon that.

I'm not - I think the result will be similar if not better than 2007. Even the offices who don't have local reasons to vote YES, know that this is a defining moment for the Union and it is a Make or Break vote.

Sorry though its good to have the public on side it helps keep any waiverers on side, it ultimately does not really matter. Its a case of conviction versus cost - if you are convinced its the right thing to do at any cost you will stay out for ever. If however, you think the sacrifices made outweigh any gains from the strike you will eventually go back. Hows your conviction.

Everyone has to vote yes, if the union don't get a yes vote, the union will be finished. RM will make 60% of their staff part-time and 40 % full time. This is RM plan, so how many up for going PT, not many i bet. Staff may experience short-term loss but long-term they will hopefully secure their jobs.

This will be yet another vote for RM to see how much longer they will have to put up with the unions. Sooner or later the war on terrorising, bullying, harassing and victimising its employees will come to a complete stand still citizens and crozier will have to jump ship. Not only citizens should every employee vote for a yes for strike action, they should vote for the common good of man (women too) to safe guard there right as workers and refuse to be whipped like dogs (no offence intended to our canine friends).
Be aware citizens voting for strike action does not mean that a national strike will go ahead, this will just strenthen our hand against this back water ragium of slave labour. Your voting citizens for your rights as human beings trying to make a living on this wonderious planet of ours and not be dictated to by these mindless capitalistic morons.

My concern isnt so much as to whether we get a yes vote or not, because I think that we will, but how will our CWU leaders choose to use that yes vote ?, fiddling about with 24 hours here and 24 hours there is going to be no use at all, we need to hit em hard and hit em quick, to get them around the table, 2 or 3 days a week, every week or even all out if there is the stomach for it. :cfo :mfo

4 Offices in the Manchester area have allegedly voted no. Only around half the posties in my office got a ballot paper at all and of those that did; the union won the yes vote by just 24 out of 140. In all 52% have voted yes in Manchester. So who knows? Hardly the massive yes vote that the union want is it?

We all need a yes vote. If we don't get a yes vote the job is not worth doing anymore because Royal Mail are going to attack are jobs and conditions even more than they are now. I dread a NO vote that will mean the end of my Royal Mail career after 15 years.
