ATOS MEETING

Off since AOD, hopefully back back soon. ATOS letter the other day, saying ATOS "meeting" over 100miles away! One mate said get a taxi, charge it to the Office!
I'll prob attend, otherwise gives Laurel and Hardy ( Managers ) ammunition 'bout me being awkward etc.
I can't drive with prescribed medication, so have to get a mate to help out.
Can I claim petrol back on "Dog Attack compo" scheme? Ta.

I wouldn't attend.....tell them you are off sick & it is too far away.

Let them sort out a more accessible place for your appointment.....let Atosser's meet you at your office for example!

Get a grip Brother - I had an op on my knee at the start of the year ,I was off for 12 wks
4 wks after the op my DIM wanted me to go for meeting with atos it was a 68 mile round trip.

Refused as I was not allowed to drive-told him if he wanted to arrange for my transport there & back either by taxi
or by one of my colleagues using a RM van ,I would gladly go to see atos,alternatively atos could come to my house for a home visit

Guess what the DIM fecker did'nt say another thing about it .

Your DIM is only coming the cvnt ,he wants to see if you're gonna be daft enough to fall for his bleedin stupid idea .

I had to go and see the ATOS Dr a while back it was only a 30 mile round trip, the DOM told a LM to take me to the appointment.

We had something similar, union rep told atos if they wanted a meeting they would have to come us, in the end they waited till they had about half a dozen in the area to do and held it in a big DO, still 60 mile round trip, so LM was told to take four the from our office in the crew bus.

Medication negates driving, pain means sitting for long distances not good either. Train/taxi not really on. ( Might bump into Richard Branson...)
I'll ring Dom on Monday, ask if meeting can be held closer, or use Time Travel machine!
Whole thing stinks of making my life more difficult, or is this just my devious imagination working overtime?
Thing is, meeting isn't even in the same country - no kidding!

Solicitor back from AL next week, taking up the cause, I hope. Been a bit quiet until I geed 'em up. X Rays shown nothing outstanding, normal wear/tear.
So, soft tissue injury needs Cat/MRI scan, GP fighting to get one asap. ( If I was on £250,000 a week playing footie, I'd have had one already!)
Have to press my case, as I feel they're - solicitors - a bit standoffish, but it might just be my gut feeling. Hopefully wrong...

even more irritating is that once you go to the meeting its as much use as a chocolate teapot, i was in there for around 10 minutes and in that time they decided to recommend me for ill health retirement, i take it you've already had their 30 minute phone diagnosis ? i got 3 phone diagnosisis before a face to face .

Just watch what you say when you go as these clowns will use it in any way they think will undermine you.
I agree with goldi2K9,they are a waste of time,it usually consist of you sitting there whilst the quack ask you such inane questions as can you do the house work or make a cup of tea,very little examining(if any is actually done)and then the quack will ask you if you think your fit to go back to work!Err isn`t that your job?
If your GP or specialist has given you a sicknote for an amount of time off the quack will sound you out about ill health retirement...nevermind that your specialist says you will be able to go back to work in time, all they are interested in is reducing the `surplus` numbers for their overlords RM.

Seen physios/GP's so why Atos assessment? I think DOM wants "pound of flesh" even tho injury is Dog Attack/AOD.
Doesn't believe normal Medical Profession apparently. Said to me, "as not bitten, near miss", then denied all knowledge of incident later on.
Found old Atos report the other day, dated two days after attack. It said " injured chased/attacked by a dog, as you are aware." Selective memory, perhaps?!
Ringing office am, to see if it can be altered to at least the country I live in!

It makes a change from "Telephone Assessments". It's amazing how they think that they can assess someone properly, without even seeing them!

What do these people get if they get retired on health grounds?

you get 34 weeks wages plus 9 weeks notice, plus any holidays etc you are due for this year, works out between 17 and 19 thousand
