Why do we support Labour?

As a former Labour party official and supporter for years, I can not see for the life of me what I have in common with them now. I am also amazed why the trade union movement actively supports our tormentors, I can think of no other organisation that would have what we have had thrown at our industry in the last ten years by a party we support.

The Labour party have not done right by us or the country, at the end of the day they have a duty to the whole country and they have failed it with the postal service. They have hacked away at the counters network and I suspect more will follow soon, more privatisations of crown offices etc. Our union leaders are failing us by supporting the party to the tune of around £5 million since 2001 and no doubt they will be digging deep come general election time. I would sooner that £5 million went to fund the greens, the monster raving loony party or even the liberals who are a lot nearer to us as socailist then this new labour bastard son of the labour party is.

I suppose our union leaders will be well fed and watered by the Labour heirachy and kept sweet , I know I sound cynical but I know from first hand how it works. Its time we cut ties with the party, a party we funded, nurtured, supported and it turned on us. They can look to there new friends in the banking and financial world to fund the party now or they can put down a bit extra down on the expenses claims.

Well i know i won't be supporting the Labour party at the next general election, especially after the way we've been treated
This will be a first in my adult life !
