Technically Speaking - yes - I think the line goes "AOD would normally be discounted" - if he thinks you are even partially at fault then he can issue the Stage and unfortunately there is no right of appeal. :mad :mad :Sick

This is where I think the stage system is wrong because issuing a stage can be perceived as a punishment but RM see it differently.

The good thing is if the Stage is issued and the reasons why are not strong enough then any eventual dismissal arising from the Stage process can be overturned at an ET.

The AOD HAS to be investigated,if no investigation has happened, then he can't just say,it's your fault, you're gonna get a stage warning.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

My accident was covered up in this way who investigates and are they not trying to reduce accidents on duty how convenient it is if it was found not to be an accident!.

If your stage is down to a AOD, and they issue it, take a out a grievance against the manager who issued you the stage, you may lose it, but at least it will be on your record and show that you did not agree with the decision and that they had gone against there own guidelines  it may help you at a later date.

accident.

2. an event that happens by chance

incident
1.an event
2.a violent event, such as an attack
3.the occurence of dangerous or exciting events

accidents tend to produce unwanted results.'

They are supposed to carry that out ASAP if they take any longer than 6 weeks ( i think) your entilteld to have it back dated.
oh and if you have any more time off due to illness in the mean time it only counts towards your stage 1 trigger ( again i think) not sure if thats the case if you have had your stage 1 interview, but certainly the case if you haven't.

Maybe DOM could help us out on that. :whistle
