not really qualified to give advice on this but, have heard my area rep say that a good tactic is to appeal the the issuing of the stage 1 & 2 warnings. as they are often issued when they shouldn't be and their is no appeal for them at that stage but they can be appealed at time of stage 3.

I assume you have contacted your area rep.

Had a second stage three and admittedly my sick record was appauling as a result of some personal problems I dont want to go into: my advice to you is to fight for your job no matter what it takes. I approached my DOM and told him personally how much I enjoy my job and how I really honestly feared the sack . Take your union rep into the meeting and explain what you are going to do to improve and how you have taken steps to improve giving examples (tell them what they want to hear) Do not in my opinion, approach this in a confrontational or agressive manner as this will more than likely have an adverse effect. If you really want to keep your job you have to show this to every degree even if it can mean swallowing a bit of pride. Good luck Ps. If you are to see ATOS let the doctor know how much you want to keep your job and it would be appreciated if he / she would include this in the notes even if the doctor has deemed you fit for duty some footnotes on the report will not hurt.

Once again good luck

I've had 3 Stage 3 interviews in a year. Definately take your CWU rep in with you, if you have'nt got a decent office rep, get in touch with your area rep. I had a serious health problem(hospitalisation) for 2 of them and the 3rd was down to personal and work related stress, so I guess RM duty of care had to come into it. I guess it depends what sort of mood the DOM is in on the day and how many people he has to lose with the cuts. Good Luck with it.
