AOD

I know this subject has been bought up many times but can't find the thread for it.

Anyway I had an AOD back in January, slipped and fell down a steep icy driveway on a Saturday morning, hobbled into work on the Monday but could'nt do a delivery and was sent home and told to get a dr's note, which I did, signed off for a week with a muscle injury to my thigh/knee. Since then I've had trouble with my knee(painkillers and anti inflamatory pills every day to get me through) and had to take 3 days off sick last week as it had swollen up and felt like it was burning constantly, I've got a hospital appointment next month. I'm on a stage 2 until the end of August, this morning I had my RTW interview and was told these absences would trigger another Stage 3, is the LM right or wrong? and are AOD treated the same as other absences?

As I understand it, any absence will trigger a stage 3 letter being sent out by HR, and you will be called
in for a Stage 3 interview as the AOD and resulting absences will be shown initially as sickness absences.
Take a Rep in with you, once it is established that the absences were due to an AOD (and not your fault for
not wearing non-RM shoes etc) the Stage 3 should not be issued. Shouldn't be any problem if it was
recorded as an AOD at the time, and later absences were as a result of the AOD.

The accident HAS to be investigated and a report done,if that has not happened then they have to take that into account and it should not go towards any stage warning.

The AOD was reported on the day of the incident. ATOS rang yesterday, I told the 'nurse' about the incident and that I'm off to the hospital to see a 'Advanced Musculoskeltal Practitioner' and she said 'ok, we will leave it there then', not sure what she meant but no doubt will find out when the report comes through.
