Royal Mails wish List.

Although Royal Mail management arent interested in talking to our officers it seems they have a 4 point 'wish list'.
This was also alluded to on the front page of this months Courier - 'we have new strategies for collection and delivery'
Point 1 - Pay Freeze
Point 2 - New door to door spec - no cap on D2D (ie 5, 6, 7 P/w)
Point 3 - One collection per day. (never mind quality of service, wipe out duties /scheduled attendances)
Point 4 - 8 hour day across board with 3pm last letter INCLUDING SATURDAY. ( to facilitate the new Walk sequence machines)

For me personally 3pm on a Saturday is a disaster would have to give up my season ticket ive had for over 20 years.
Obviously the other 3 arent exactly anyones cup of tea either.
It is imperitive the London dispute, whether it goes national or not, forces these people back to the table so we can NEGOTIATE agreements and not be ruled by executive action and diktat.
Strap in guys, its going to be a bumpy ride.

3PM last letter is a disgrace in my opinion when you consider that all this new machinary should be speeding things up, going back to 2001/02 we had much earlier final letter times.

The problem is mate they wont have the cash for walk sequence machines in every office. One machine will be in a 'hub' office and it will run the mail for, say, 4 or 5 offices.
So in my area it may be in somewhere like Clydebank and handle G15, G62, G81, G82, G83, G84.
Not rocket science that further from Clydebank you are, later you get your feeds.
So if your in Helensburgh G84 your 1st feed may be around 9-930, sort, prep, delivery = 3 oclock.
An absolute nightmare and exactly why the union MUST be involved in negotiations.

I think the USO states last letter at 3.15 so everything will be planned around that. So we've been told anyway.
