EVR
My office is to offer a few early voluntary retirements.
Can anyone tell me if the DOM can offer it to selected people or does he have to offer it to everyone in the office.
Also, Is there any criteria for giving EVR, ie; seniority ,age ect:

VRs are covered by the MTSF agreement. The fact is if there is a surplus and the need for VRS then the first indivudals who get asked is those ageed between 55 and 65 in senioirity order. Then after it is based on seniority order down but with a cap on those who are ageed between 50 and 54 who may leave on the basis on TMA by mutural concent. If this still does not remove the surplus then MTSF allows those who are aged between 50 and 54 to leave on full terms albeit it Royal Mail have started to stop this happening on the grounds of cost.

JOHNNYP,we might work for the same company but the same rules dont apply to london as the rest of the country.royal mail are afraid of your strength in numbers.Small office like ours have had the savings imposed by ea whilst the union just sit back and let royal mail demoralise the workforce.

You take a huge share of the blame for your offices failure to ballot it's members,you undermined the union and the rep, at every turn.
stop whineing about the union and get angry with Royal Mail,if the longer walks were so good why the f**k did Royal mail not impose them?
You accuse the union of sitting back,while RM impose exec action,how about you ask for a ballot?,it's YOU WHO NEEDS TO ASK FOR THE BALLOT

yahoorsur,just what i expect from you.your usual vitriol on an internet forum.why dont you say something tO my face when you are in my office YOU TWO-FACED WINDBAG.i am entitled to my opinion on what concerns my future,and just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean you are correct with your assumptions.its union reps like you with there false promises that have led the membership into dissarray.

yahoorsur,there cant be that much wrong in longer walks.YOU authorised there implementation in an office 6 miles away from ours.WHAT do they have that we dont or is that another case of your dislike of some of the members in our office.i thought union reps represented the majority in an office not the minority!as re the ballot you keep mentioning we've asked for it from day one of this dispute but its never been forthcoming and you as area rep could enlighten me on why it didnt happen.
