Can anyone direct me where i can find policy or guidelines on what exactly you are allowed and not allowed to put on the Union notice board?
Currently management is all of a sudden clamping down on newspaper articles being put up, arguing that propaganda is not allowed!
Any answers anyone?

As far as I'm aware only official union material allowed on the union board, no newspaper cuttings, no advertising for RMC 
just LTBs and any communication between unit rep. and management.

The last notice on our Union Notice Board was March 2008 - mind you it is generally obscured by Yorks full of packets - some indication perhaps of the union involvement in our workplace.

all you would have to do is put up all literature from HQ and your local branch, it wouldn't take very long and you would be making a difference, it would also improve the union presence in your office, a win/win scenario, you would feel better and you would be helping your fellow workers, whats not to like

You could always get around it the same way our Reps did: Stick them to the windows in the Union Room (I assume you have one). Some of the Managers still tried to complain. But they lost the argument, as it's not a Notice Board. Are you serious?!?!?
We only have a small CWU room, with a couple of windows (it's on a corner). But I thought that RM was obliged to provide a room for Union use, so that people could consult their Reps in private, if neccessary. Or have we just been lucky, in the last 2 Buildings we've been in?

Andy no you have not been lucky mate,Royal Mail have to provide facility time for CWU reps under the I/R framework,this must include a room,notice boards,access to computers etc etc.The funny thing is at our place the union room is bigger the the Doms officeandy2007 wrote:Are you serious?!?!?
