Reduction in AWD without consultation with CWU !!

Post by islfor »

In our office, we have realised that some AWD have gone missing ? Reduced from 40hrs to 35hrs on static duties on rotas.
The CWU was unaware of this until he received the business plan proposal for this years savings. Can he get these hours back by using the I.R. Framework ?
Am I right in saying that the only way to reduce the office core baseline hours if RM & CWU both agree ?

Get your rep to ask the manager for a breakdown of the AWD before and after. Ask the manager where are the written proposals as per the IRF. If the manager refuses contact your Area Rep and instigate an inprincipled disagreement. Has the manager changed the duties when they have become vancant?

Actual Working Duties
The staff used(not including Reserves)to run an office.
Example
30 Walks
4 drivers
2 Ex PHGs
18 Rest day covers
=54 AWDs
Which may need an additional 9 reserves to cover A/L and S/L

What has happened is a 40hr guy has retired and they have used a 35hr guy instead on his job.

All duties in that rota was 40hrs
Duty1 40
Duty2 40
Duty3 40
Duty4 40
duty5 40
Reserve 35 was previous 40.....They cannot do that without CWU agreement ?

SORRY should have said FLOATER 35hrs not reserve

They're trying it on in my office but have reduced the hours to 30 to cover a FT duty.

FT IPS duties can be covered on PT hours by simply not requiring IPS to be done. Then the danger is you dont have enough IPS hours and those who are left to do IPS get on their frames late and extend or cut off.

So they have nicked 1 hour a day over the 5 day week and expect the remaining staff to swallow up his IPS
Get a dissagrement in under the IR Framework and demand the Status Quo be maintained before they took those hours out and that duty put back to what it was while talks take place to get an agreement through the IR Framework.
