4 hr delivery span

4 hr delivery span to be introduced in our office monday.
20 min break before comencing duty and 20 mins at end of duty
what happens to health/safety 3 1/2 del span ?
need answers from reliable informed source please
our rep is under impression they RM can force us to walk 4hrs without break
thy also propose changing start times every day different start times
2.10 pm finish on sat without full break.
can RM force this through
need advice quickly our concerns have to be heard friday

Can you give more detail on how they have arrived at a 4 hour delivery?
the reason i ask is,if your duty starts at 6.15 there comes a time when you are due to leave the office for delivery,it
can be different from D/O to D/O but for arguments sake,if it is 10.15 leave at 10.15 and not before.
if you leave early they can encourage you to take more,in the believe that you have more time,but really they should
be finding you more work within the office(if it is permissable)
you can be out of the office for 4 hours, 30 minutes of which can be time to convey between your first/last letter and the OFFICE.
Do you have any A.G.s on 5 hour contracts?...ask how is it possible for them to complete.
Sounds like another DOM under pressure to make savings.

prob to make savings
they say not enough indoor work to justify hours although p/t s still on otime most mornings boxing roads pkts etc
duties being done away with ie 4 roads into 3
waiting on new machinery lttr sorting ? over that so they cut duties first although heard theve been put on hold
also to guarentee f/t jobs ha ha weve to gain 5 f/t vacs although 7/8 duties f/t through vr packages
but bottom line here is
CAN RM MAKE YOU WALK 4 HRS WHEN HEALTH/SAFETY LST YR SAYS NO MORE THAN 3 1/2

Has this been agreed by a CWU local , area or divisional rep?If yes ask to see a copy of the agreement and what it consists of.I would be very suprised if any one outside of H/Q has agreed to this without there say so.If they can not show you an agreement then tell them NO and get in touch with your area rep A.S.A.P. and tell them what is going on,this has to be negotiated by a union offical before major change like this can be made.

sorted we have just voted on the above issues and 3 1/2 del span stays
no change to start times
involved union rep health /safety rep who clarified positions
mgmt not happy with this
threats on f/t work
have won a wee battle but fear war could start

same happened in our office, we were meant to be going to start 4 hour deliveries recently ,unagreed by the workforce as the start date neared more and more complaints and doubts were raised and then it was rejected by the members....veiled threats being made by the management since
