Bit of advice please
A member has been told yesterday he has to move to another office next week. He has he's own duty, doesn't want to go but the Com says he has no choice as the office is in such a mess. My question is can they make him..? TIA

Re: Being forced to move office next week
Previous replies to this are,
Start and finish at your own office
Don't use your own car to get to the other office as your insurance probably doesn't cover it so ask for a van or a lift
When you arrive at the other office remember that you're the shittest slowest postman ever so you won't get much done
Etc if anyone else can add more

If it's a reasonable request, yes. The reasonableness of the request depends on the type of contract the worker is engaged on.

Re: Being forced to move office next week
Approach lino/com/dom at said office at the earliest opportunity and ask for his/her work mobile number. Sign out on the dot at your designated DO and not a second after. Try at least 4 neighbours to deliver all "premium products" first try. Go back to deliver any missorted letters in the bundle immediately.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 11:39Previous replies to this are,

Re: Being forced to move office next week
Like previous posters have said - a common tactic used by a manager (whether it is moved to another walk or D.O)
Last thing you want is to get into a slanging match so just keep quiet and do want they want.
Start at your D.O and let them provide transport to the other D.O & vice versa when finished - there is nothing they can do about that-it is your right.
Start at your allotted time (your D.O) and finish at your allotted time (other D.O) + no overtime or rushing about.
Just go at a standard pace and do everything by the book.
In other words do everything to piss your and the other manager off before they get bored and pick someone else

Just to clarify this, you should finish on time at your home D.O. So get back to the D.O. you've been sent to leaving enough time to hand back anything you couldn't deliver & travel back to your own office.Hyrrokkin wrote: ↑01 Jun 2025, 17:42Like previous posters have said - a common tactic used by a manager (whether it is moved to another walk or D.O)

Is he the least senior person in the office? If not they should be going - it’s discrimination

Is this the same for new contracts been sent to another DO on a Sunday for parcels? I was told my start and fin time was at the DO I was sent to, and the manager at the other DO told me i have to do all the tracked, even if it meant working over a hour..
