Shift cancelled

Was suppose to be on parcel delivery today but just got text from work saying shift cancelled too dangerous to drive, (weatger)that's all well and good, but they still saying I owe them a shift cause of it, this don't sound right to me, can someone advise, I'm also on new contract but can't see anything on it regarding this if it happens.

If the contract doesn't say otherwise, I'd say you're due tge days wage. Best hit up the union.

That’s tosh. If THEY cancel a shift on the day, you are paid anyway and that’s the end of the story.

Your contract states you will be given 24 hours notice of any change to your attendance. Unless you have more than 2 years continuous employment it's hard to argue against any decision made by the employer. Is there anyone on the old contract in your dpr rota?
