I had an AOD back in Dec '07. It has been proven the accident happened because of poor equipment. Since then I have suffered from the injury. Also, I have been under Atos Origin since the accident. I was referred to a local physio and received treatment to the point where I cannot be treated further until an MRA scan.
Early on Atos advisers said that in the absence of info, we recommend that he not lift more than 5kg's. I questioned how this was decided, but never got an answer. A short time later another referral and telephone interview, the adviser than states that 16kg's would be fine for me to lift. At no time have I been physically examined, only telephone interviews. All the time I have contested this advice.
My manager instructed me to do a pouching/driving duty. I again contested the advice and requested a face to face interview/examination. This never happened. I did the driving duty, and aggravated my injury. After a further 4 weeks sick leave I returned to work.
I have again been referred to the physio instead of a face to face, I asked the physio to determine what weight I could lift. The result was 2kg's! I am seeking advice on what I should do to complain. I believe the advice from Atos has further aggravated an injury caused due to an AOD that Royal Mail have accepted liability for. I feel the advice from Atos was not based on medical facts, but assumptions.
Thanks

Atos Origin Advice Needed
Go straight to the Union who will probably (although not definitely) get their solicitors in on it. Millar and Simpson have quiet a good reputation and you may even be able to get loss of earnings but the Union or solicitors will be able to advise.
