If I took reduce hours from 37 to 32 hours how will it effect my pension ( 38 years service ) and contract.

I'd speak to HR. But I'm pretty sure it'll just reduce your contributions from now on by whatever percentage dropping from 37 to 30 hours equates to.

I dont think you would. I was after reducing to part time, and they said it would be on the new terms with Sunday working possible.Never followed it up, so check with your manager/rep.

Your previous pensions will not be affected but for peace of mind I would get that confirmed via email, obviously going forward you will will pay 6% based on your new weekly wage

You should receive a variation to your existing contract and now a new contract

I have done this process recently

There are two guys in my small DO who a year or so ago (on legacy contracts) they both job share a duty, 6 on, 6 off, and they weren't put on new contracts and don't have to do Sundays either.
