Grievance Procedure
Having recently placed a grievance within the structure of RM, can I advise anyone about to proceed with this to take or have a Rep on hand at the appropriate meeting for support. If these interviews are recorded do I have right of access to that recording would anyone know?

Re: Grievance Procedure
Interviews are not recorded unless done without your knowledge. And yes take a rep in with you at all times.

Re: Grievance Procedure
Grievance meetings are not recorded with a recording device. Manual notes will be taken and then written up. A copy will be sent to you to agree or not they are accurate and for you to confirm before any decision is made.
You have the right to be accompanied by a trade union rep or colleague at these meetings as advance notice will be given when to attend.

Re: Grievance Procedure
Using any covert recording device in any situation, not just formal meetings, will result in a mutual breakdown in trust and confidence between employer and employee and gross misconduct. Even managers are employees. That is why warnings are given at the start of meetings. The only exception being a protected disclosure such as criminal breaches of health and safety.
