Suspended H&S rep

Post by JTKKavanagh »

I am (possibly was) a H&S rep. While I was on holiday my credentials were suspended. No reason given, no contact with me, the area rep received an email to inform the managers which he didn't because he wasn't given a reason, the branch secretary doesn't know, the only ones that do are the IR rep and the Disabilities Officer who announced it with some relish at WTLL while I was in holiday. Then informed as many managers as he could find.
I could go into rumours, suspicions and why they haven't been asked directly by me but that's just stirring it up.

Can they do this? Without any kind of process? The branch secretary will be speaking to those involved next week, can he make it stick?

Obviously I'm just after an independent view away from the situation on this and won't be quoting any source.

Credentials were suspended by who ? As a voted in position within your branch I would have thought only the membership could suspend them on the grounds they had lost faith in you in that position.

Far as I know it was the covering branch secretary. On advice of an IR rep. Who then informed the Area H&S rep.
They are both being interviewed about it next week.

If you really have no inkling why, then they better get their ducks in a row before those interviews..

I suspect it'll be the ones on full time release, perhaps this is just the start
