SA Overtime
Just a quickie, on behalf of a fellow worker if an sa is ending, should the holders be given 28 days notice, or can they just be told this week is your last one and that's it.

Re: SA Overtime
The allocation of SA duties has become very lax over the years, especially being allowed to be tagged onto already established duty structures.
An SA duty is a working contract outside of your normal contract of employment. Cancelation of that contract will still require 28 days from either the employee or employer to cancel that SA Contract. Furthermore, it is a working condition set out in the SA Agreement between Royal Mail and the CWU
As mentioned earlier about lax administration allocating SA Duties
It all depends if you actually signed for that SA Duty after being advertised for signing, and not simply a "Sitting Tenant".

Re: SA Overtime
Since the education of reps has now moved to local area learning rather than residential weekly courses at the CWU College, the lack of education in reps now evident. It did not take me long to source the SA Agreement, your rep is lazy and not representing the members

Re: SA Overtime
Just been in touch with workmate who keeps records of o/t worked. The 1st sa
was 16th June 2021 so sa as been active over 12 months so from what I'm reading with that agreement 28 days notice should of been served. Any advice on best way to approach manager, as I say no use going to rep as agrees with everything he says. Said rep as crossed picket line last time we had ia,
and seriously bugs me they will be taking names of anyone that crosses line if we vote for it
this time. The union above them says we must forgive and forget

Re: SA Overtime
Your best course of action is to keep it informal at first and see what the manager comes back with once he has the agreement in front of him as an objective reference source. (Print a hard copy) See what his response is before elevating if necessary.Ragest wrote: ↑03 Jul 2022, 16:02Just been in touch with workmate who keeps records of o/t worked. The 1st sa

If he/and/or the rep still ignore you and implements by executive action, then is the time for a formal grievance. The Rep cannot go against that national agreement. Might be worth contacting the local Branch Secretary at Branch level or the Area Delivery Rep as well
