What's the correct procedure for being selected for a vacant job, seniority or suitability. And is there any documentation on this site to back it up please. Thanx in advance

Depends if the vacancy is for a specialist vacant duty such as RLE or Dom support.

Several jobs are being advertised at our office, all are delivery duties. The dim is saying they will be given on suitability. Not seniority. Can the union rep agree to this. Sorry new to this and am trying to get my head around royal mail rules

No, the Union Rep cannot agree to this as it is contrary to a national agreement

The only other time a duty can be ring fenced and taken out of seniority is with suitability and a disabled employee

What defines a disabled employee?

With regards to a ring fenced duty you need an OH referal first then a recommendation requiring adjusted duties.

You don't have to be registered disabled but it does make the process easier if you have a DWP assessment.

We had a revision last year and repick, so my question now is should a 'disabled' person of been given first choice of jobs before someone who is more senior

In a few years your knees could go and you might need that vacant duty being disabled to stay in the job

If you had a repick last year and u picked a duty you shouldn’t be allowed to apply for a vacant duty for 12 months.
